About our Preschool and Kindergarten

Granada Park United Methodist Nursery School & Kindergarten incorporates California State Preschool Standards with its mission to serve the Church and Community.  We first opened our door in 1966 and since then we have offered high-quality learning programs to support children from diverse backgrounds and support families in meeting the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs of the children and to help each child develop his or her self-esteem. We foster an awareness of God’s love and care while providing supervised opportunities for each child to develop creative abilities and be ready for school. GPUMNSK supports families through sharing information to promote parent education. Over the years we have successfully accomplished our goals because we:

  • Love and accept children as they are
  • Use exploration & discovery as a learning tool
  • Provide opportunity and encourage verbal expression
  • Offer an open classroom atmosphere to encourage children to make choices
  • Offer experience in art, music, language art, creative movement, science, cooking, pre-reading & pre-math activities
  • Believe active play is vital for both mental and physical development
  • Protect and nurture the self esteem of each child
  • Use all senses that involve the total child learning development.
